More than 200 students of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu” are expected to donate blood on October 5 in order to contribute to reducing the shortage of blood in hospitals.
The event was organized by the Association of Students and Residents of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu” on the occasion of the University’s Days, Info-Prim Neo report.
“It is a project implemented the fourth year in a row, which promotes a voluntary blood donation campaign. It usually starts at the University of Medicine and is then extended to other universities,” said the deputy head of the Association of Students and Residents Victor Shkiopu.
Alina Jumiga, the head of the Association’s Projects Division, said the previous campaign involved about 175 donors. More than 30 persons donated blood today until 10am.
The event is held two times a year. It begins with donation of blood and ends with an open-air concert on campus.
