Medpark is first medical institution in Moldova accredited internationally

Medpark, which is the first private hospital in Moldova, became the first medical institution in the country and in Eastern Europe that obtained the international accreditation of the Joint Commission International, which is a world leader in the accreditation of medical institutions. The announcement was made in an event at Medpark that involved Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi and other state officials and public figures, IPN has learned from a communiqué of the institution.

The process of accrediting Medpark lasted for about one year. In the period, there were assessed over 1,500 standardized indexes. The role of these committees is to supervise and ensure the smooth running of the medical process.

The hospital finished the accreditation process with 94 points of the 100 possible. It is the first hospital in the region with the best results.

“We are proud that we achieve such performance. We are the first hospital in Moldova to obtain international accreditation. By this accreditation, we want to show that we offer our patients access to hospital services that meet international standards at home, in Moldova, guaranteeing the quality of medical care and the patients’ safety and satisfaction,” said Sinan Bora, head of the Administration Board of Medpark.

Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi said the equipment, high professionalism and the international accreditation obtained recently transform Medpark into a model that should be followed by the other hospitals of Moldova so that they reach the same quality standards.

Inaugurated in 2011, Medpark is the greatest medical project launched by investors from the U.S. and Turkey and financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The investments in this project exceeded €20 million.

“We supported this project from the very first day. It is a major social project that in its three years of activity showed its innovation capacity and its major role in providing medical services of a high quality,” said Alexandru Cosovan, senior banker at the EBRD.

The quality of the services provided by Medpark is confirmed by the cooperation with the National Health Insurance Company.

The Company’s vice director Vasile Pascal said that more and more patients ask to be treated in this hospital owing to the quality of the provided services and its highly qualified personnel. “This shows that we were right when we decided to cooperate with this institution. We expect that now that Medpark obtained international accreditation, the number of patients will continue to go up.
