Members of Supreme Council of Magistrates elected

After more than three hours of debates, the judges managed to elect three more members of the Supreme Council of Magistrates, which is now in full composition. On Saturday, November 28, the General Assembly of Judges voted Anatol Turcanu, Dumitru Visterniceanu and Dina Rotarciuc in as members of the Council. The former president of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Nicolae Clima, who was among the candidates, did not obtain the confidence vote of the judges. Two of the 12 members of the Council - Nicolae Timofti and Nichifor Corochi - were elected at the General Assembly of Judges of October 31. Another three were elected on November 28. On November 27, the Parliament named four titular members of the Council. These are law experts Alexandru Arseni, Boris Negru, Igor Dolea and Vasile Cretu. The Council also includes three ex officio members – the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General.
