The members of the Supervisory Board of the Public Broadcaster "Teleradio-Moldova" were dismissed altogether due to “the inability to exercise their functional competences”. A proposal to this effect was supported by five members of the Audiovisual Council, at its meeting on July 29, IPN reports.
According to the president of the Audiovisual Council, Dragoș Vicol, the members of the TRM Board did not honor their job-related duties and did not ensure a proper development of the national broadcaster. TRM Board chairman Nicolae Spătaru admitted that there had been delays in publishing the Board’s minutes, but argued that no damage was done.
According to the legal status, the Supervisory Board of "Teleradio-Moldova" consists of 9 members, public personalities from the fields of journalism, law, public relations, international relations, etc. The Board monitors the compliance by TRM management and employees of the legal framework in the field of public broadcasting, assuming its mission as guarantor of the correct application of the legislation in force by the Company.
