Merits in developing and strengthening Moldova's statehood to be rewarded by orders and medals

The parliamentary Communist majority voted for instituting the order “Bogdan the Founder” and the commemorative medal “650 years since founding the Moldavian country”, on December 25, Info-Prim Neo reports. The order “Bogdan Intemeietorul” will be conferred for “remarkable merits in developing and consolidating Moldova's statehood, substantial contribution to the national revival, to the consolidation of the civic peace, to instituting cohesion and concord and to harmonizing inter-ethnic relations, and for especially fruitful activity to enhance the country's prestige on the international plane”. In the hierarchy of the decorations “Bogdan the Founder” will be smaller in importance than “The Order of the Republic” and “Stefan cel Mare” and higher to “The Order of Honor”, “Faith to Motherland” and “Glory of Labor”. The order “Bogdan the Founder” will represent a cross with lilies on a star with beams. The commemorative medal “650 years since founding the Moldavian country” will be conferred for “contribution to assert and develop the Moldovan statehood, to consistently promote democratic and social-economic reforms, to increase the spiritual and intellectual potential of society, for state, social or charity activities.” The medal represents the coat of arms of medieval Moldavia.
