His Holiness Vladimir, the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova, congratulated the Orthodox Christians on the occasion of Christmas, when it is celebrated the birth of Christ, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Sisters and brothers, those living in Moldova and abroad, I congratulate you on this important religious event – the birth of Jesus Christ. For over 2 000 years, our attention has been directed to the holy country, to Bethlehem and the cave in that town where Christ was born,” His Holiness Vladimir said in his message to the people.
He called on the Orthodox Christians to go to churches, attend the Saint Liturgy and praise Jesus Christ’s in their prayers. “When going out of the church, go to the houses of your parents and children and sing carols to them to tell them the good news, be near your relatives and take care of those who are sadder. Jesus is being born. Glorify him!” said His Holiness Vladimir.
The Metropolitan Bishop also called upon the people to end the Christmas fast properly and not to abuse food and alcohol.
