Mihaela Chisnencu wins trophy of “Child Smile” contest

Moldovan singer Mihaela Chisnencu, who settled in Bucharest two years ago, emerged victorious in a new music competition in Romania. In the national pop music contest “Child Smile” held in Drobeta Turnu Severin, the singer won the trophy in the 16-19 age category, Info-Prim Neo reports. “For me, it wasn’t the hardest contest, even if there were many serious contenders from all over Romania,” said Mihaela. “As in any other competition, I had to be perseverant and show what I can do best. It was a nice experience and I was impressed by the place where the contest took place – a mountainous area at the border with Serbia.” Mihaela Chisnencu said she often chooses the contests according to the area where they take place so that she is able to travel. The jury’s president Mihai Traistariu praised the young singer for her performance, saying she made considerably progress during the last year and behaved like a real artist on the stage. Latino music singer Analia Selis, a member of the jury, said that Mihaelei Chisnencu has a wonderful voice and she definitely has a great future ahead of her. Now Mihaela, who studies at the Bucharest-based National College of Arts “Dinu Lipatti”, is taking the yearend exams. Afterward, she intends to take part in a number of national and international contests.
