The driver of a route minibus was caught driving in an advanced state of inebriation. He was stopped and tested near Cotiujeni village of Briceni district after passengers called the 112 Service to report that the driver was drunk, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said that after he was removed from the steering wheel, the 59-year-old man was tested with a breathalyzer. The result showed a concentration of 1.39 mg/l of alcohol in the exhaled air.
The court is to rule on the sentence for the driver. The passengers were taken by another unit of transport.
The police urge the citizens, if they notice someone driving under the influence of alcohol or other prohibited substances, to call the emergency number 112.
