Administrators of minibus routes in Chisinau had a meeting with officials from the public transportation and roads division today, August 19. Vitalie Butucel, deputy head of the division, told IPN that the administrators are encouraged to propose changes to the routes set by the Municipality.

“I talked with them about observance of traffic rules and accidents and informed them about the changes we decided. They have the right to propose new routes, we can't ban initiatives. We'll analyze the already submitted proposals according to the normal schedule”, said Vitalie Butucel.

In turn, many minibus route administrators told IPN they were preparing several route proposals to meet the authorities' requirement that minibus routes shouldn't cross the city center.

The City Hall canceled 10 minibus routes and the routes of 50 others have been changed so that they didn't overlap with bus and trolley bus routes.
