Minibus with Moldovans struck by train

A minibus with Moldovan citizens aboard was hit by a train near Roșiești commune of Romania’s Vaslui County last night, IPN reports. Two of the passengers were rushed to the hospital with polytrauma, but are now out of danger, as the Romanian press informed.

According to the first reports, the seven passengers together with the drivers were returning to Moldova from Bucharest. At a certain moment, the driver turned to a bystreet, being guided by the GPS system. As he didn’t know the road, he didn’t make sure it was safe before crossing the railroad. The train driver saw the minibus from a distance and tried to warn the driver, but could not avoid the impact.

Two persons, including the driver, were taken to the hospital for being offered medical care. Four passengers were treated at the scene as these refused to be transported to the hospital. Another two persons suffered no injuries.

The Romanian police took legal action over causing of bodily injuries.
