Minibuses will run in all Chisinau suburbs by October 1

Minibus routes will be set up in all the settlements that form part of the municipality of Chisinau until October 1 under the City Hall's program “Minibuses in Suburbs”, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca instructed officials of the Public Transport and Communications Division to complete this project by October 1 so that the people living in suburban areas could use two types of units of transport – buses and minibuses. Chirtoaca said that the schedule of the minibuses must be precise so that the people know exactly when the minibus sets off. The mayor also demanded finishing the repair and marking works on the access roads to suburban areas. Veaceslav Tarna, the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division, said that the works are being carried out. The access roads are now being stopped up. Some of the streets in Durlesti town are being repaired. About 38,000 square meters of road have been marked near education institutions and kindergartens. Tracks for cyclists will be marked on Zelinski Street. There were built running tracks connecting Botanica and Buiucani district. “The city must meet the new standards. We must set up special parking lots for cyclists as in the European capitals and mark the streets,” the mayor said The City Hall is looking for 'winter' paint, which is more durable than the paint used now to mark the roads.
