The bill for which the Government assumed responsibility provides that the minimum guaranteed income used to calculate the social assistance will be raised from 1,107 lei to 1,300 lei. In the case of children, the rise is from 553 lei (50% of minimum guaranteed income for adults) to 975 lei (75%), IPN reports.
“Currently, we have over 15,000 families with at least one child that receive social assistance. De facto, there are about 34,000 children whose families are on social welfare,” Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu told a news conference.
She noted that this measure, unlike the other bill measures that will be implemented during the period of emergency, will be permanent in character.
If the right to receive social assistance expires during the state of emergency, this will be extended automatically until the state of emergency is lifted.
The measures stipulated in the bill for which the Government assumed responsibility are aimed at supporting the citizens and entrepreneurs in the crisis situation.
