Ministry of Finance suggests new mechanism for subsidizing jobs

The Ministry of Finance designed a new mechanism for subsidizing jobs, including for persons with disabilities, in a move to increase the number of working persons and to help those who lost their jobs during the state of emergency to be reemployed. The relevant regulations were proposed for public debates, IPN reports.

Under the regulations, the enterprises that will hire persons who didn’t have earnings during the past 12 months will get subsidies equal to 50% of the salary taxes, but not more than 1,000 lei a month per employee, during a period of 12 months.

The noncommercial organizations that will employ persons with severe disabilities will receive subsidies equal to 100% of the salary taxes, but not more than 2,000 lei a month per employee.

The noncommercial organizations that will employ persons with accentuated or medium disabilities will receive subsidies equal to 50% of the salary taxes, but not more than 1,000 lei a month per employee.

The specialized enterprises where at last 50% of the employees are persons with special needs will get subsidies for employing persons with disabilities equal to 200% of the salary taxes, but not more than 4,000 lei per employee, throughout the period the given employees will work.

The budget funds allocated for subsidizing jobs in 2021 total 200 million lei. The regulations are to be approved by the Government.

In Moldova, there are about 177,000 persons with disabilities. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, 30,200 persons were out of work in Moldova in the third quarter of 2020
