Ministry of Interior calls on participants in demonstrations to refrain from provocations

The Ministry of the Interior calls upon the participants in the May 1 demonstrations to refrain from provocations and not to become involved in activities that are against the law. It urges the political parties not to take measures that are not within the legal norms, Info-Prim Neo reports. During the demonstrations that will take place in Chisinau on May 1, the Ministry of the Interior will take complex measures aimed at maintaining public order and security. A large number of police officers will be involved in these activities. The section of Stefan cel Mare Blvd. between the streets Banulescu-Bodoni and Pushkin and Sfatul Tarii St and Ismail St will be closed for traffic. The traffic will be diverted onto the adjacent streets. A larger number of Traffic Police patrols will supervise traffic and the recreational areas such as parks and wooded areas. A national meeting dedicated to the International Workers’ Day will take place in the Great National Assembly Square starting at 10:00. At 12 noon, the Communist Party will stage the Second Civic Congress. The sympathizers of the PCRM will stage a march from the Academy of Sciences to the central square of Chisinau.
