Ministry of Social protection to cooperate with ombudsmen

The Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child and the Human Rights Center – the institution of ombudspersons – have signed a cooperation agreement, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry. Under the agreement, the parties will cooperate in all the areas of common interest so as to strengthen the promotion, observance and protection of the fundamental human rights and freedoms. They will also work to ensure the respect for the constitutional rights and freedoms. The parties will submit proposals for adjusting the national framework in the area of human rights, national policies and strategies to the international one. Also, the Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child and the Human Rights Center will jointly organize training courses, debates and meetings on human rights, including the respect for gender equality and the non-discriminatory treatment in national polices. The document was signed on March 14. During the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Social Protection, Family and Child Viorica Dumbraveanu said that the agreement will strengthen and develop the existent relations of cooperation with the ombudsmen. For his part, ombudsman Anatolie Munteanu stressed the importance of cooperating in the promotion and protection of the human rights. The agreement is valid for 5 years and came into force after signed.
