Tens of young people and two youth centers of Moldova were awarded in the Youth Prize Gala staged by the Ministry of Youth and Sport. The young people were awarded for special accomplishments in the cultural-artistic, technical-scientific and civic activism areas. The winners received by a trophy, a diploma and 12,000 lei, IPN reports.
“We, the central and local authorities, have to create an appropriate climate for the young people to be motivated and to assert themselves at home. Now that the relations with the EU are being developed, the Moldovan young people will benefit from more opportunities,” said acting Minister of Youth and Sport Loretta Handrabura.
“This prize makes me think that youth, this wonderful period in life, didn’t pass in vain. I achieved something. This award crowns all the successes,” said Pavel Gamurari, who won the National Youth Prize in the cultural-artistic division.
The prizes were divided into two categories: National Youth Prize for three areas and National Youth Prize for youth sector development, which is awarded to youth specialists of the local public authorities of the first and second levels, Youth Centers and local Youth Councils.
The contest is held annually on the occasion of the National Youth Day, which is marked on the second Sunday of November.
