The police discovered a murder committed 18 years ago. A man is suspected of killing the mother of his girlfriend, when the woman found out that her daughter aged 14 was pregnant. The crime was committed in Telenesti district, IPN reports.

According to senior investigation officer Daniela Gherman, the woman was hit with an ax in the head. In order to get rid of the body, the man, who was then 18, sought help from a relative. They together buried the body in the garden. In half a year, they unburied the body, burned it and spread the ash through the yard.

The girl told the villagers that her mother went to work abroad. She hid the murder and started a family with her mother’s killer. Seven years ago, they broke up.

During the 18 years, the man committed other offenses, including trafficking in persons, and was put on the wanted list. The accomplices in the murder are investigated under arrest and face up to 20 years in jail or life.
