Mobile phone numbers of National Numbering Plan are in greatest demand

The National Numbering Plan mobile and fixed-line phone numbers and the independent location numbers were in the greatest demand among providers of electronic communications networks and services in 2012, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the national ICT regulator ANRCETI. Of the total 280,600 numbers allotted by ANRCETI to providers in 2012, 200,000 were numbers for mobile phone networks and services, 62,600 – for fixed-line phones, while 18,000 were independent location numbers. 100,000 of the 200,000 mobile phone numbers were offered to SA Moldcell (of the series 789xxxxx) and 1000,000 to SA Moldtelecom, which works under the commercial brand “Unite” (of the series 675xxxxx, and 676xxxxx). In the period, the ANRCETI also allotted 14,300 fixed-line phone numbers to SA Moldtelecom and 48,300 numbers to the alternative providers of fixed-line phone networks. The alternative providers usually offer this numbers to their subscribers for using triple-play services (Internet, TV, and telephone). Last year, the ANRCETI allocated 28 national short numbers of the form 14xxx and 620 phone numbers with special tariff Premium rate. According to the National Numbering Plan, the national short numbers of the form 14xxx are offered for providing services of general interest nationwide (motor transport, including taxi, air and railway transport, medical services, etc.), while the Premium rate numbers (of the series 900xxxxx, 905xxxxx, and 906xxxxx) – for providing content services, such as divertissement, games and contests, televoting, general information, marketing, etc.
