Modest final for Moldovan judo players

Moldovan judo players Ivan Remarenko (90 kg) and Stanislav Cernega (100 kg) were knocked out of the Judo European Youth Championship on the last day of the competition on November 22. The championship was held in the Turkish town of Antalya, Info-Prim Neo reports. Remarenko was beaten by Estonia's Aleksander Marmeljuk, while Cernega – by Ukraine's Razmik Tonoyan. The other Moldovan sportsmen Octavian Nacu (60 kg), Victor Scvorţov (66 kg), Iurie Leu (73 kg) and Alexandru Gaina (81 kg) were eliminated in the early stages of the competition. The country rankings are topped by Russia, which won 8 medals, three of which gold. Moldova won no medal and finished the 39th. As many as 276 sportsmen from 40 European countries took part in the championship.
