Several dozens of employees of the state-run company MoldATSA Wednesday protested in front of the Supreme Court of Justice, demanding that the former director Valerian Vartic be reinstated and that the legal case opened against him be reexamined. Today it is one month from their last protest, Info-Prim Neo reports.
On September 1, 2009, Valerian Vartic was given five years' probation and dismissed from post over abuse of power. He was accused of illegally signing a contract with a clinic for the provision of dental services to the employees of MoldATSA.
“The application asking reexamining the case has been at the Supreme Court of Justice from November, but we have received no answer. There are documents showing how much Mister Vartic spent and confirming that he did not broke the law. The Court of Appeals imposed a fine only, but the Supreme Court of Justice decided that Valerian Vartic should be discharged even if there were no additional materials proving his guilt. The court decisions are contradictory,” said Tatiana Sava, an employee of the company.
“This is not public money. It is the money of the company, our finances. We finance ourselves. During 15 years, the state provided no financial resources for developing this company. How can the state consider now that Valerian Vartic abused his position?” asked Valentin Prodan, vice chairman of the company's trade union.
The employees say they will protest until Valerian Vartic is reinstated as director of the Air Traffic Services Authority MoldATSA.
