Moldova aids Japan quake victims
The Government will offer 1 million lei from its reserve fund in relief assistance to Japan, in accordance with a decision taken on March 16, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In this connection, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said Japan played an important role in building a democratic society and competitive market economy in Moldova by financing such major projects as 2KR, which provided the farmers with agricultural machinery, and the project to support small and medium-sized companies within which the companies could purchase equipment to produce goods of a high quality. Japan also offered assistance in such areas as healthcare and culture.
The Premier reminded that there were opened special accounts for helping the Japan quake victims. He stressed it is the duty of every Moldovan to support the Japanese people in such a difficult period for them.
