Moldova and Turkey to cooperate in visa regime liberalization
Moldova and Turkey will strengthen their cooperation in the security field, in the context of the liberalization of the visa regime between the two countries, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release from the Ministry of the Interior.
Mehmet Selim Kartal, Turkish Ambassador to Moldova, declared during a meeting with Moldovan Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean that the liberalization of the visa regime between the two countries would have an impact upon the security in the region. The Ambassador reminded that the bilateral relations in the field of home affairs had always been good and the Turkish side wanted to further strengthen them.
In turn, Dorin Recean confirmed that the Ministry of Interior was ready to make the maximum of effort in cooperation, especially in the field of security, considering that the two countries would agree to adopt a liberalized visa regime. The Minister stressed that all the conditions to strengthen cooperation were met and that Chisinau counted on the Turkish colleagues’ willingness to share their experience in such spheres as maintaining public order, fighting organized crime, improving cooperation between education institutions, and cultural exchanges.
Currently, the cost of a Turkish visa for Moldovan citizens is €20 or $30 for a 30 day stay.
