Moldova commemorates victims of fascism June 22

The victims of fascism will be commemorated Tuesday morning, June 22, at the Eternitate Memorial. Moldova's Acting President Mihai Ghimpu will participate in the official ceremony, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under a presidential decree, every year on June 22, the national flag will fly at half-mast to commemorate the people that fell in the fight against fascism and the millions of innocent victims of the biggest conflict in the history of mankind. Traditionally, flower-laying ceremonies will be organized at the tombs and monuments of fallen soldiers, while at 10.00 they will be commemorated through a moment of silence. On June 22, public authorities, organizations and enterprises are recommended to avoid any public entertaining actions, while newspapers, radio and TV channels are asked to take into consideration the signification of this day in developing and editing their programs. The Day of Commemorating the Victims of Fascism has been marked in Moldova since 2002.
