The Moldovan national football team dropped a position in the world nations rankings published on December 21 by the International Football Federation (FIFA), Info-Prim Neo reports. The Tricolors were ranked 136th with 229 points. Moldova didn't play any fixtures in December. The last time Moldova were ranked so low was in 1998. The all-time lowest position was 149th in 1994. Among Moldova's World Cup qualification group rivals, England are the highest ranked – 5th. Montenegro are 51st, Ukraine 55th, Poland 66th and San Marino remain at the bottom – 203rd. European and World champions Spain top the list, followed by the Netherlands and Germany. Moldova's next fixture is scheduled for February 29, 2012, against Belarus.
