Moldova-England match most likely to be played in Tiraspol

Moldova's 2014 World Cup qualifier against England will most likely be played in Tiraspol, after Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) president Pavel Cebanu told a Thursday news conference that he would not accept the terms put forward by the managers of the Chisinau-based Zimbru Stadium, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The terms imposed by the Zimbru Stadium are unacceptable. This is why the game will most likely be played in Tiraspol, especially since we need to give an answer to UEFA and FIFA concerning the pitch soon”, said Pavel Cebanu. He went on to scold businessman Adlan Shishkhanov, the supposed owner of the Zimbru Stadium: “We won't accept any bullying! Who does this man think he is to dictate conditions to Moldova or the Football Federation?”, fumed Cebanu. The FMF president gave assurances that if the match is played in Tiraspol, the capital of the breakaway region of Transnistria, all the fans from other areas of the country will be provided with transportation. The last time Moldova played on Sheriff Venue in Tiraspol was in the fall of 2008 when they encountered Latvia in a 2010 World Cup qualifier. Since then, the Tricolors have played their games only at Zimbru, which gathered large crowds all the time.
