Moldova exported over 3.5m rose cuttings since 2022

The Republic of Moldova in 2022-2024 exported over 3.5 million rose cuttings. Among the leading exporters of cuttings are Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Turkey, Poland, Romania, and Uzbekistan, IPN reports.

The National Food Safety Agency said that farmers from Dobrogea Veche village of Sângerei district are among the most active producers of rose cuttings in the country. Economic operators from the given locality over the last three years exported over 570,000 cuttings. In the first months of 2024 alone, about 163,000 cuttings were exported from the region.

“Access to new markets represents a significant opportunity including for rose cutting producers. So, the National Food Safety Agency in 2022 secured the Republic of Moldova’s right to export rose cuttings to Uzbekistan as well,” the Agency noted in a press release.
