Moldova-Film looks for young talents

Moldova-Film Studio has announced a contest of scripts for science fiction and documentary, short and full-length films, artistic director Valeriu Turcanu said at a news conference on November 18. The Studio is ready for digital filming, but it needs ‘young views’, Turcanu said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The director also said that they acquired a new tape that accommodates three full-length films. “We need a young mentality, a modern view as well as captivating and curious scripts,” Valeriu Turcanu said. He also said they implement cooperation projects with Romania, which is ready to cover the cost of the films made in Moldova. Director Gheorghe Agadjanean said Moldova lags behind in cinematography. The young people should show more courage and initiative and contribute to the development of the national film industry. For the first time this month, Moldova-Film was selected for the East Silver Market European Documentary Film Fair and the International Cinematography Festival in the Czech Republic. The Studio participated with the documentary “800 Violet Horses”, directed by Gheorghe Agadjanean. The film is about the rally held on the Independence Day in 2008 and about a competitor who had a violet car with an 800 horsepower engine. The film won the prize for debut at the CIS Sports Film Festival. The scripts for the contest must be submitted in two copies together with the CV. The deadline for applications is December 15, 2009.
