During the 30 years of the establishment of Moldovan-Japanese diplomatic relations, Japan has always been a partner and sincere friend of the Republic of Moldova, Mihail Popșoi, head of the Moldovan Parliament’s group of friendship with Japan, stated in the second meeting of the Moldova-Japan parliamentary friendship group that was held online. The MP expressed his gratitude to the people and the Government of Japan for the assistance offered in time to Moldova, IPN reports.
According to Mihai Popșoi, the Japanese investments play a very important role in the development of the Republic of Moldova in many areas, such as the economic, investment, agrifood, scientific and education sectors. “We further bank on fruitful cooperation and any support on the part of the people of Japan will be highly appreciated by our people,” said the Deputy Speaker.
Attending the discussions, MP Marina Morozova underscored the assistance offered by Japan to Moldova’s industry and the economy in general. She said that the Japanese companies created almost 4,000 jobs in Moldova. She invited the investors from Japan to further profit from the opportunities offered by the free economic zones, industrial and technological parks in the Republic of Moldova.
Vladimir Bolea, the head of the Parliament’s committee on agriculture and food industry, enumerated the objectives to develop Moldova’s agricultural sector with the support of Japan, which include the reduction of energy dependence and digitization of the sector, reformation of the specialized education system.
Mariana Cușnir, a member of the Parliament’s committee on environment and regional development, spoke about the modernization of waste management and wastewater treatment systems, rehabilitation of ponds on Moldova’s territory and thanked Japan for the financed projects that contribute to better living standards.
The representatives of the National Diet (Assembly) of Japan congratulated the Moldovan delegation on the occasion of the Martsishor (symbol of the coming of spring) that is celebrated today in Moldova. The members of the two friendship groups voiced hope that this symbol will bring peace all over the world.
