Moldova meet Georgia tomorrow

The Moldovan national football team tomorrow, August 11, will meet Georgia in a friendly match devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Moldovan football. This will also serve as an occasion for the Tricolors to test their skills before the 2012 EURO qualifiers, which will start in September, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova manager Gabi Balint apparently is having squad problems for this encounter. Balint will not be able to have Alexandru Epureanu, who designated as the best player last year, due to an injury, nor can he count on Igor Armas and Victor Golovatenco, who are playing for Kuban Krasnodar. However Balint made a deal with Kuban manager Dan Petrescu to have these players for official matches. Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, Gabi Balint praised deb Petru Racu. “He gave preference to the national team over his club team. And I appreciate it very much. All the players should adopt such an attitude when it comes to the national team”. “This will be a very important day for the Moldovan football. It will be 100 years since the first match was played. There will be many spectators watching us and expecting a victory. So we will treat the match with Georgia as a fully-fledged official match. We want to win”, Balint stated. Moldova will play with Georgia at Zimbru venue in Chisinau, Wednesday, 19:00. Tickets range in price from 30 to 80 lei.
