Moldova opens first Eurovision 2010 semifinal this evening
Olia Tira & Sunstroke Project open the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Norway's capital Oslo tonight, with the song Run Away. Representatives of 17 countries will take part in the first semifinal that will be broadcast by the public television channel Moldova 1 starting at 21.50, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Russia, Estonia, Slovakia, Finland, Latvia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Belgium, Malta, Albania, Greece, Portugal, Macedonia, Belarus and Iceland will compete in the first semifinal alongside Moldova. Ten countries will go through to the final.
According to the popularity rankings compiled by the search giant Google, Olia Tira & Sunstroke Project lie in the 24th place among the 39 participants. Romania's representatives Paula Seling and Ovi rank the 13th, while Ukraine's contender Alyosha – the 27th. Germany, Georgia, Sweden, Armenia and Greece currently lead the rankings.
The second semifinal on May 27 will be opened by Lithuania. The final will take place on May 29, starting at 22.00.
France, Germany, Spain and the UK qualified automatically for the final together with Norway. The contest will take place on the Telenor Arena stadium in Oslo.
