Moldova, Romania to sign war grave agreement
Soldiers and other people that died during the two world wars as well as in the post-war period have the right to decent last resting places, says the draft Agreement on the reciprocal care for war graves that is to be concluded between the governments of Moldova and Romania.
The Moldovan Cabinet approved the draft agreement and authorized Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta to sign it, Info-Prim Neo reports.
By signing the agreement, the parties will commit themselves to taking care reciprocally of war graves and exchanging information about soldiers and other war victims buried on their territories. The graves will be maintained at the expense of the state where they are located. However, the parties will be able to seek assistance in the form of workforce, construction materials and other commodities from each other. The agreement also provides for reciprocal free use of land where graves are located for undefined periods of time.
The agreement will also determine the exhumation and re-inhumation procedures.
