Moldova to benefit from US$40m for education reform

The Government will submit the agreement on the education reform project signed with the International Development Association (IDA) on February 7, 2013 to Parliament for ratification. Under the agreement, the IDA will provide 26.1 million Special Drawing Rights (US$40m) in financing, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the March 7 meeting, the Government decided to initiate negotiations on the draft agreements signed by exchange of notes between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Japan for financing the Project for the Improvement of Medical Services. Under the project, 80% of the worn-out medical equipment will be replaced or modernized. The value of the project is 5.9 million yen. The loan is repayable in 20 years, at an interest rate of 0.01% and a grace period of 10 years.
