Moldova U21s end season with draw

Moldova's under-21 national football team obtained a 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan in a friendly match on Wednesday, November 14, on the Orhei Sports Complex stadium, Info-Prim Neo reports. The guests played better in the first half and opened the score through Araz Abdullayev. After the break, the Tricolors stepped up and managed to level the score 6 minutes before the end of the match, thanks to a goal from Nicolae Milinceanu. After the game, Moldova’s coach Alexandru Kurteyan heaped praised on his players. “The boys played well and were organized. I’m happy for them. Both team had many sights on goal, but we didn’t make the most of them. We must work in this regard”. On the other side, the Azeri’s coach Bernhard Lippert remarked that the game was useful for both sides. “We have a new team and such games allow us to test new players and new tactics. It was an interesting match for both teams. I hope we meet again”. This was the second friendly game for the current generation of players (born after January 1, 1992), who will represent Moldova’s colors in the next year’s campaign for European Championship qualification.
