Moldova wants to operate direct flights to U.S.

Moldova will open talks on the operation of direct flights between Chisinau and U.S. settlements, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said on his return from the United States, IPN reports.

The Premier said the members of the Moldovan delegation discussed the opening of talks on the Open Skies Agreement with U.S. officials. “In fact, it will be an agreement similar to that we have with the European Union, on the creation of the Common Aviation Area, which already brings befits to the Moldovan people,” said Iurie Leanca.

He voiced hope that these discussions, when they start to materialize, will represent a first step towards ensuring direct flights between Moldova and the United States.

The Prime Minister’s visit to the U.S. took place between March 3 and 5.
