Moldovan athletes relegated to third tier after Belgrade championship
The national athletic team of the Republic of Moldova finished 7th in the second tier of the European Championship that took place in Belgrade, Serbia, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The best results were achieved by runner Oxana Juravel, who won the 1,500 meters race, and athlete Marina Marghiev at the hammer throw.
Vladimir Letnicov was the second best at triple jump, while Vadim Hranovschi and Natalia Cerchez were ranked third at the discus throw contest and 5,000 meters race respectively.
Moldova was ranked 8th with 73.5 points in men’s contest and 7th with 77 points in women’s competition.
Serbia and Croatia were promoted to the first tier, while Moldova and Israel were relegated to the third, Info-Prim Neo reports.
