Moldovan biathletes competing at European Champs
Six Moldovan biathletes are taking part in the European Championships in Bulgaria. On February 25, four representatives of Moldova competed in the 10 km sprint. Nicolae Gaiduc achieved the best result – the 55th place, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The leader of the national squad Victor Panzaru finished 57h, while Sveatoslav Maliutin and Liviu Dubalari took the last two positions. The race involved 60 biathletes.
It should be noted that last week, Panzaru competed in the World Skiing Championships, while Dubalari and Gaiduc participated in the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival.
Among women, Alexandra Kamenshchik ranked 45th out of 47 contenders in the 7.5 km sprint. Dumitrita Ciobanu abandoned the race after the first target shooting.
In 2008, biathlete Natalia Levcenkov won gold in the European Championship, scoring the best result in the winter competitions among Moldovan athletes ever.
