Moldovan culture to be celebrated in Moscow, St. Petersburg

Russia's largest cities, Moscow and St. Petersburg, will host during September 10-14 the Days of Moldovan Culture, the Ministry of Culture announced in a press release. The dance ensemble “Joc” as well as other art groups and renowned national artists, will perform in the events. Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who will be in Moscow on September 10 and 11 on Dmitri Medvedev’s invitation, is expected to be present at the festivities’ opening. For the first time the Days of Moldovan Culture were held in the Russian Federation in March 2002, followed by the Days of Russian Culture in Moldova, in September 2003. After a 4 year intermission, the Days of Moldovan Culture were held in the Russian Federation in September 2007. A year later, in October 2008, Moldova hosted the Days of Russian Culture. This second event was followed by another break until September 2011, when the Days of Russian Culture were organized again in Moldova.
