Moldovan Cycling Championship comes to a close
Alexandru Pliuskin and Serghei Ceban are Moldova’s new cycling champions. The competition, which ran 2 days, gathered the best Moldovan bicyclers, including those plying their trade abroad, Info-Prim Neo reports.
During the first day of contest, the weather conditions were difficult. The sportsmen had to face heavy rainfalls and wet track. Despite the weather, the organizers didn’t reschedule the group race.
Alexandru Pliuskin won the competition, being deservedly called the best Moldovan bicycler. Member of Russian team Katiusa, after 155km of pedaling, he bested Alexandru Braico and Serghei Tvetkov and won an 800 lei prize.
The individual race, that took place on Bacioi track, was won by Serghei Cioban. He scored the best time during the 25km race.
Overall, 50 bicyclers from 7 Moldovan teams participated in the competition.
