Moldovan farmers provide US$100,000 to Japan
The beneficiaries of the 2KR Project for Food Production Growth transferred US$100,000 to the Embassy of Japan based in Kiev, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
2KR Project executive director Valeriu Bulgari said the decision to provide assistance to the victims in Japan was taken in one of the recent meetings of the beneficiaries of this project, who total about 600.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov, former technical director of the 2KR Project, said that within the project the Moldovan farmers have purchased 3,300 tractors, 310 combines, 700 pieces of irrigation equipment and other machines, with the direct support of the Government of Japan. The project has been implemented in Moldova since 2000.
