Traders from the Republic of Moldova are invited to take part in the China Import Export Fair (Canton Fair) as an opportunity to promote local products. The most important multi-branch fair in China will take place from October 15 to November 4, 2024 in the city of Guangzhou, IPN reports.
At an event to present the exhibition, Sergiu Harea, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the exhibition is a good opportunity to promote products from the Republic of Moldova, to get to know foreign partners and to attract investment.
According to Sergiu Harea, in the past 10 years, imports from China to the Moldovan market have doubled. As for exports, there is a need to combine forces and increase the volume of exports to the Chinese market and this exhibition is a good opportunity to promote Moldovan producers and products. Each edition of the fair is organized in three phases. Each phase lasts for three days. The total exhibition area is 1.55 million square meters, with 55 exhibition sectors and more than 740,000 booths.
The first phase focuses on industrial products, electronic and household electrical products, machinery and equipment, tools and devices. The second phase focuses on consumer goods, building materials and decorative products, the third phase on textiles, clothing, food and health products.
Approximately 200,000 merchants from 215 countries and regions participate in each edition. At the spring 2024 edition, the number of traders exceeded 240,000. Among the main buyers are large retail chains, including 226 multinational corporations.
Each edition of the fair includes a series of economic and commercial activities, all with the aim of stimulating commercial transactions, presenting innovative products and increasing the satisfaction of participating companies.
This spring’s fair involved about 100 participants from the Republic of Moldova.
In the first six months of 2024, bilateral trade between China and Moldova increased by 50.8%.
