A 38-year-old man, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison and in 2016 was put on the national and international wanted list for rape and robbery, was detained in the Russian Federation. The individual was extradited and handed over to the law enforcement authorities of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, in February 2014, the man, who is from Ialoveni district, being inebriated, forcibly took a woman to his home, where he raped her in a perverse way. Also, in May 2014, the individual, using a knife, kidnapped a woman and took her by car to a forest in Ialoveni district, where, threatening her with death, he raped her, then stole some of her belongings.

The man could be apprehended thanks to the actions taken by officers of the National Investigation Inspectorate.
