Moldovan suspected of involvement in robbing Moscow ATMs

A native of Moldova was arrested in Moscow together with another two men and two women on suspicion they stole over 46 million rubles (about 18 million lei) from cash machines, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting Ria Novosti. According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the criminal group was headed by a 28-year-old man from the Komi Republic of the Russian Federation. He has been earlier convicted of apartment thefts. The other members of the group are aged between 27 and 47. Two of them, as the organizer of the group, are from Uhta town, another one is from Moscow, while the last is from Moldova. The police said the thieves broke the ATMs, stole the money and then disappear by a car. It was established that the group robbed at least 13 Moscow cash machines. The Russia authorities announced that the damage caused was 46 million rubles and US$37,000. A criminal case was opened against the suspects. Four of the members of the group were remanded in custody.
