A number of winemakers of Moldova left to the United States together with Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov to ask the U.S. authorities to support the Moldovan farmers who sustained losses as a result of the ban imposed by Russia on the import of fruit, vegetables and meat from Moldova, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, a number of companies from Moldova will be able to come into contact with U.S. distributors in their attempt to sell their wines on the American market. These are: Chateau Purcari, Cricova, Chateau Vartely, Lion-Gri, Albastrele Wines, Ampelos, Asconi, Vinaria Bostavan, Castel MIMI, Vinaria din Vale and the Association of Small Wine Producers.
A number of 34 types of Moldovan wine will be presented in Washington today, July 28. The event will involve U.S. traders. On July 31, there will be staged a tasting seminar in New York, where there will be explained the specific features on the Moldovan wines.
