A Moldovan woman diagnosed with the novel coronavirus died in Italy. The woman was 65 and lived in Milan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration has said.
Sergiu Corcodel, attaché of the Service for Public Diplomacy, Strategic Communication and Interaction with the Press, has told IPN that they are considering the possible solutions given the restrictions determined by the crisis situation in this country. Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration are permanently in touch with colleagues from the Consulate in Milan and with relatives of the woman.
Italy is the European country that was most seriously stricken by COVID-19. The virus claimed almost 3,000 lives there so far. In Moldova, the first death from the novel coronavirus was announced on March 18. A 61-year-old woman died after receiving treatment for seven days. She returned from Padova on March 11.
