Moldovan women recruited to work as prostitutes

Two men are suspected of recruiting young women to prostitute themselves. According to the Human Trafficking Division of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), in the first half of last year, a Moldovan, together with an accomplice from Moldova and several citizens of Romania, recruited two girls to work as prostitutes in the Romanian town Timisoara, IPN reports.

According to the PGO, the girls aged 19 and 21 were told that they will receive high pays, which will represent half of the sum they will get from the clients identified by the culprits. When they got to the destination, the young women ran away.

The Moldovans are under arrest. The investigation into their case was completed and the case was sent to the Centru District Court for examination. The culprits face up to ten years in jail.

The citizens of Romania are investigated by the Romanian authorities.
