Moldovan young people can benefit from scholarships to study at top U.S. universities

The young people from Moldova can apply for scholarships to study at top universities in the United States through the MBA SEED Grant of the WNISEF Fund. The program envisions the provision of financial assistance for studies to graduates of Moldovan and Ukrainian universities.

MBA SEED Grant is a program that was specially designed to offer financial support to persons with leadership abilities. Those who are admitted to universities in the U.S. pledge to return to the country of origin after obtaining a diploma and to invest their talents there. “The young people must apply to one of these 50 U.S. universities that cover a number of areas. They must also prepare for all the necessary exams so as to be enrolled at these higher education institutions. The fund is ready to make this investment together with the young people who will take part in this program,” program coordinator Roman Tychkivskyy said in a news conference at IPN.

The program covers up to 100% of the costs of studies. The costs related to accommodation, transport to and from the U.S and on the territory of the state are covered by the scholars. One of the conditions is for the applicants to be graduates of universities because this is an MBA program.

The application for grant can be submitted immediately after receiving notification of the admission to the university. The application procedure consists of three stages: completion of the application form for the grant online and submission of documents; handing over of documents and taking of the ‘interview’ test, and examination of files and announcement of the results by the SEED Grant Committee. The application form is submitted through www.seedgrant.md. The deadline for applications is 75 days before the beginning of the program of studies.

The program is financed by the U.S. Government through the United States Agency for International Development. It costs about US$4.5 million, which will be allocated to the education sectors of Moldova and Ukraine in 2016-2017. The best 40students from Moldova and Ukraine will benefit from scholarships to study at the best business schools in the U.S.
