Young people from the six member countries of the Eastern Partnership, including Moldova, are invited to join the cultural project “I, Culture”, which is an orchestra that will give large-scale concerts in the capital cities of the involved states The project is implemented on the initiative of the Polish Institute “Adam Mickiewicz”. The musicians can file applications by March 15, Info-Prim Neo reports. The orchestra will consist of 100 instrumentalists that will be selected by 18 teachers considered the best professionals in the world. The young people who want to form part of the orchestra must unload a recording and several scores performed by them on the project’s website www.culture.pl. The orchestra will be conducted by Ilyich Rivas, 19, who is from Venezuela. It will consist of the well-known instrumentalists Marshall Marcus, Philip Nodel, Timothy Lines, Meyrick Alexander, Sarah Newbold, and Chi Chi Nwanoku. The orchestra will give concerts in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Poland. In Chisinau, the orchestra will perform on August 29. The concert will be organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Polish Embassy in Chisinau. The final concert will be given in Azerbaijan’s Baku on September 2. Minister of Culture Boris Focsa told a news conference that this project aims to bring the participants closer both at cultural level and social level. “We will support this project as we consider that it is very important for Moldova and will impatiently expect it to come to Chisinau,” he stated. The Institute “Adam Mickiewicz” will cover the costs of assessing the participants. The members of the orchestra will receive small pays. The travel, accommodation and food expenses and the rent of the concert halls will be paid by the partners of the project, in every country separately.
