Other two Russians, Alexey Vinnichenko and Veronika Guseva got the third and the second places, respectively, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a communique issued by the organizers. The contest was held by the International Federation of Aviation Sports and by the Moldovan Paragliding Federation. The organizers were the paragliding sports club “Vario Plus” and the club “Paraaerostil”. This year's championship was joined by 51 sportspeople from Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. Moldova was represented by 16 sportspeople. The weather was good to fly. The contestants competed in three events on routes from 38 to 50 km. In the national ranking, Eugen Parfeni got position 1, Alexandru Cojocari came the second and Constantin Rusu – the third. “In holding the third championship, we asked the Moldovan Sports Agency for support for the first time,” says Alexandru Cojocari, the manager of the championship. “Initially we needed an ambulance. Unfortunately, the Government rejected our request, and we had to pay for the medical services. The officials from the Sports Agency also ignored our invitation to attend the opening ceremony. I feel shame for our public servants,” Cojocari said. The first Paragliding Open of Moldova took place in 2007. The second edition in 2008 was attended by 63 sportspeople from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and Germany. The best areas for parasailing are near Roghi and Molovata villages of Dubasari district, at 50 km from Chisinau. This year's contest was held from May 16 to 22.
