Moldovans in Italy to receive Government support
The Government of Moldova has allocated funds for its citizens who reside in northern Italy and who have suffered losses as a result of the recent earthquakes. Up to this phase the citizens were offered 21 free emergency passports and 15 proxies, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
Documents were issued on the spot, as representatives of the General Consulate of the Republic of Moldova to Bologna were present in the region affected by the earthquakes. Besides documents, they received tents, folding tables with chairs, lanterns, detergents, personal hygiene items, medications etc.
At its next meeting, the Government will allocate 220,000 lei from the its Reserve Fund for providing further material support to the Moldovan citizens affected by earthquakes in northern Italy.
In late May and earlier this month a series of earthquakes struck northern Italy, causing tens of deaths and destroying numerous buildings.
