Moldovans who work legally in Turkey to receive pensions from this state

Parliament ratified the agreement on social security between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Turkey by 63 votes in favor. The document offers social security guarantees to citizens who work legally on the territory of the other state, IPN reports.

The persons working officially will benefit from allowances for temporary incapacity for work, maternity and other allowances. When the pension is determined, the insurance periods in the two states will be added up and each state will apply the national legislation in the field. Both Moldova and Turkey will calculate and pay the pension only for the period during which insurance was paid on the own territory based on the principle of proportionality.

The agreement on social security with Turkey is the 13th of those signed by Moldova so far. Such agreements were also signed with Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Luxemburg, Austria, Estonia, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Lithuania, and Germany. Similar agreements are negotiated with Latvia, Israel, and Belarus and are being initiated with Italy, Greece, and Russia.
